shouldnt the tilt pin stop the motor from doing that?

There are outboards that came without tilt and trim option..... wouldnt it be the same thing?

If you can lift it all the way up without it installed.....unless there is a mechanism to manually lock the motor down, what is going to happen in the water in reverse when you apply power?

Think about it.....

There are other parts needed as well in this link but items #39 to #46 are the main ones......

Btw, im not suggesting you purchase anything, just showing you what should be on that motor without the unit installed.
