1982 Evinrude 15 HP Throttle Handle Stiff

I had a nut missing on the carb that was giving me some fits. I was able to install new nut, but had to disassemble the starter to get the nut on. Once re-assembled the motor works great but, man is that throttle handle stiff. Anybody know how to loosen up?
