He drove two hours to you and you did have $2500 cash ready? ???

Buy the boat then find a motor you feel more comfotable with and swap them.

the river was 8' over normal level only the rear of the boat was backed into the water w/ the bilge plug out (I asked to do this so water would get into the bilge) so this is a quick and easy leak test w/ water only on the inside then I point to the dip most of the water poured out the drain hole next time I will reinsert plug and then point out a quick dip. another concern is the dent on the port side I'm concerned it will effect steering? next to the dent is three welds in revit holes appears like a body puller was used from outside to attempt to straighten the dent. the HID lable was not attached to hull however the HID # was ingraved in the lables spot is this legal? the cylinder heads where'nt discolored like a over heated engine I'm anxious to compression test. what is a decent PSI for the 1995 Merc.115 OB? I plan to compile all negatives to use as a negosheaition. all in all I like the boat and will most likely get it. Thanks Guys for advice

Mod EDIT:
I didn't mearsure it however the difference in 21/22 is the transoms spashwell I'm sure this is 22. I'm also thinking the floation foam is indeed water logged his tow truck was a newer ford F-150 4 wheel drive and while I was riding I could tell the boat was back there the race track is near by maybe it's a good idea to weight the rig? TB
Lets put this over here in the topic about this boat.

Deleted it from the SCs on Craigs topic

Engraved HIN is perfectly OK. As long as it matches paperwork.

Unless you dried the hull after it was pulled from the water it will drip because of water on the hull not in the hull.

It is also a 21 foot boat. Not 22", not 22'. The 22's I've seen are V5 configuration.

Buy it, I dare you.

64osby was correct this is the 21' mr 210 at just over 21' with an 85' beam. Not the mr220v at 22'3" with an 95' beam. Not sure what you mean about the splashwells, the 210 has a 21' transom rated to 140hp while the 220V has a 25" transom rated up to 240hp. If you check out the Starcraft brochure for 1982 in the sticky topics at the head of this forum you will see that the mr220v wasn't offered that year.

so I can mearsure from the top of transom where the engine hangs to the bottom (in the middle) for the 21" and 25" mearsurements? dam I was planning on a repower w/ a 2007+ evinrude 225 etec.

Brochures don't help when you have the transom in front of you. Get a tape measure and measure it.

if I get this MR21 will the transom be stronge enough for a 150HP? what do you Guy's think top speed would be w/ a 150HP on a 900LB hull?probablley just as fast as a 1250LB MR22 w/ a 225HP? around 65MPH?

proper starting procedure for the 1995 Merc115HP 2+2 cold and warm

this is the procedure the seller used to start the engine

1.gear switched to neutral
2.pump up fuel bulb
3.I assume the 15 gallon above deck has a vent insure it's vented.
4.press ignition key in and hold for a few seconds
5.floor the throttle
6.turn key he turn it three times then it started pull throttle down to idel.

I have read a little about this engine being hard to start even when warm

doe's my description sound normal for this engine?

will it be nessarsary to prime even when engine is warm.also when this engine was placed on this boat was the egination part of the swap?

edit I've read that the stator burns out on these engine regularly what is a stator

any tips on starting this engine is appreciated.
Thanks STB

You're not going to get good answers here on that engine. Someone in the Merc subforum probably will, though^^.

If you use the formula for your Lund with a 25 HP you might just hit mach 1.

The stator is under the flywheel and creates power for the motor similar to an alternator in a car. Very simple device that should last a very long time.

So did you buy this boat yet?
