1981 johnson 15hp no spark

I have a 1981 johnson 15 Hp with no spark its off a buddys fishing boat and has sat for quite a few years. I dont have a book for it and was looking for somewhere to start. I apprecate any help!

Whatever you do, don't ever get rid of that motor! Once you get it going it will run forever and run hard with proper maintenance. I'm trying to find another one myself.

My first guess is that you may have some corrosion on any of the ground wires. This could be as simple as the ground wires under the coils to block.

Could also be a failed powerpack.
