1981 Evinrude tilt wiring issue. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have a 1981 150 HP V6 Evinrude. I bought it with the tilt/trim motor not working. Last week I replaced the original (three wire) tilt/trim motor with a NOS Evinrude motor, only to find that the whole tilt/trim assembly is all seized up.
I bought a two wire complete (used assembly). I will try to hook up the replacement unit on Sunday. I am now told that I must have "relays" in order to go from a three wire to a two wire. Is this true? If so, where can I get relays? If not, then how do I wire the beast.

How do I wire a three wire tilt/trim unit to a two wire 1981 Evinurde 150HP?

I would also like to hear on this subject as I have manual tilt on my1972 -85 hp rude. Today I am picking up the whole power tilt unit from a 1971-100 hp johnson for 50 bucks I just need to figure out how to wire it

they had a post on here about two weeks ago with
a diagram i think from joe reeves on the conversion to two wire tilt .
i will try to search for it
because i also have a 175 with the three wire and it will soon need
new tilt and trim and the two wire models are easyier to come by
