1980 Johnson, 115Hp Tilt and Trim

My trim will not go down. It goes up just fine and the trim motor works when I try to put it down, it acts like it builds up alot of pressure but nothing happens... Can you help?

tiger,<br /><br />Have you tried the manual release screw on the the side of the clamp bracket?

The screw on the side does let the motor down but it doesn't help. I can raise it back up but I still cannot get it down again.
