1980 Evinrude tilt/trim wiring problem

I have had this trim working, however I think it is not hooked up right at the solinoid. can anyone send me a wiring diagram for this to damonmcdermott@hotmail.com. Also the three wires going to the trim are the up and down and a black, I assume that the black is a ground however when I hook it up to the ground I get spark and it causes the fused hot wire to get very hot.
