1980 Angler Wiring problem

I have recently bought a 1980 19' Angler boat, with a 1985 115hp Johnson...The starter and throttle are in working order but none of the gauges work. It also has a CD player which by reconnecting two wire's got going twice but now am having no luck with it either. Does anyone have any advice as how to reconnect/ test the gauges to see if they work? i.e RPM, speedometer, gas gauge, and maybe some help with the stereo.

you can check the spedometer pitot with an air compressor...

also, get a multimeter at sears or home depot, wherever. best $20 you'll ever spend and essential for testing anything electrical on your boat. take care.
