I Have a 1980 6hp Chrysler outboard, Model 64H0F, Serial No 1827,it has been an auxillary and repainted.
It runs well however it does not have any water tell tale. It is possible it has been painted over.
I have purchased a parts manual but it does not identify the location of the water warning pee stream hole and i can not physically see one or the indent where it posibbly Was?
Anyone who owns an early small chrysler OB could you advise where yours is located and i will start scratching paint.
I cant use the motor until i am satisfied cooling system is ok as rest of motor is in showroom condition. Be a shame to seize this one.

The motor may not have a telltale. I looked at the parts diagram of it on both power head and on the motor leg and it does not appear to have one. Water may be channeled back down the motor leg and water and exhaust may only come out the small holes in the lower unit. I also doubt that motor has a thermostat. Hope someone with a 6 hp can shed better light for you.
