I have:
1980 Mercury 50 HP Electric start outboard. 4 cyl. Serial # 5633874
The stator coil has 6 wires. (2 green, red/white, red, green/white, green.) Stator is stamped 31 79.
What stator do I order? Part #? Thanks.
Mercury OEM is #5454A25 and CDI part# is 174-5454K1 I purchased the CDI part (same part#) and it works just fine. Install was easy except the flywheel was a bugger to get off. Kept track of allen screws and torqued it back to 100lbs.
