I take it is not your back yard then?:D Sorry could not resist:facepalm:. Wellcome to the insanity of the Starmada, you will find all kinds of help in this forum that is for sure. And also a lot of ribbing as well, it is a good thing that you posted pics as well as this mob can get very unruly:eek:. There are lots of rebuilds going on and lots of finished ones as well, so enjoy.

Welcome to iboats.............. the place where we have more Starcraft addicts then anywhere else. Dam we love tin boats.

Islander is a nice boat so.....what are you going to do to it? What does it need? I see a mercruiser outdrive.....which motor is attached?

LOL I like the paint job ;)

No, not my backyard, probably the only time I thought i might have a need for a concealed carry permit.. It was a good buy though, and we drug it out of there with out incident. On the way home though we blew 2 tires within 100 yards of a tire shop so that worked out well.

Cool another '79 gold Starcraft:) I have the little brother to your new rig, a 16' SS.

Well you sure saver her from the wrong side of the tracks, I wonder if any squatters had taken up residence in the cuddy?

Welcome to iboats, and the growing Starcraft fleet. Plenty of good folks here that appreciate a nice old metal boat:)

As you can see, this thing was a basket case. The previous owner never used this boat after his dad passed away and I have to believe it was well taken care of before it sat outside for a number of years. I do think it was winterized professionally before it sat. I found the reciepts. It pretty much needed the whole interior reworked. The whole thing was full of leaves and trash, and the floor was junk, the transom however is solid. I don't know how, but it is. The 140 Mercruiser Starts and runs real strong with no signs of block damage. All of the bellows needed replaced, and some general wiring tlc.

My kids have been very helpful, they try very hard. I have a bad habit of bring home junk boats and my 5 yr old asked me if i would ever get a boat that we didn't have to work on.

Re: 1979 Starcraft Islander

Wow you've done an amazing job on that interior!

I agree with Bob...I think you will win the "ugliest boat seat" contest, you will get $340 worth of new seats from iboats:D

Again, very nice work. There's a '83 Islander for sale near me and after looking at your project I really want to go get it:)

Great that you get the family involved as well, best source for free labor. I put my 5-year-old son to work when possible.
