Hi everybody, I really appreciate all the advice and brain storming. I stopped by the shop on my way home tonight to buy another water pump and housing. It looks like they gave me the wrong bottom housing. I don't think i cracked it from over tightening - I think it was sucking air from not seating correctly.
I'm going back to the shop tomorrow with the old parts to confirm. If it's their mistake hopefully they will replace the parts for free.
If it turns out i'm correct and they gave me the wrong part and it caused the malfunction - do you guys think they should help me out with the cost of replacing my cracked manifold?

That would be the right thing to do in there part but i doubt they would do it. They would make up some story from not replacing it for you. But you could try. Might get lucky

All the upper housings are the same. The bottom housing is different depending on if you have the preload pin or not.
