1979 85 hp johnson tilt trim problems

I'm ready to shoot this thing. Just bought this boat last week, everything works but tilt trim. I just replaced the trim motor (3 wire) last night, it picked up and let down 3 or 4 times and drank a quart of tranny fluid. Woke up this morning and I got nothing. Took the motor back off to see if something was up, found nothing. Replaced the O-ring between the pump and motor. It seems like there is trash clogging something cause the pump isn't pumping fluid at all.


Any body else have this problem? What can i check next? I wanna have this thing in the water tomorrow.

need a pic of system. there are three different systems and yours could be any one of them.
