Boy, you really have to watch how you say things around here. :D

Can anyone tell me if there is a caulk that is fuel resistant? I have a thread going about it in the resto section, but no good answer yet....

Decided to take a day off from epoxying and cut and mounted new teak bow strips and mounted a new bow light. I got a new piece of teak off ebay because the originals had holes from a bow mounted trolling motor.

I still have to get the deck in, splashwell back in, mount bow-rails, cleats and stuff. Basically I don't want to be drilling into it after paint. Probably looking at another month yet.:(

Where did you get your teak. Did you just rip the strips to the same dimensions as the old and route the edges. I need to start looking at doing mine in the next week or so.

I think my pieces are probably the same dimensions and shape as yours.

Yes, I found a plank on ebay, and was able to get just enough out of it. I think it was about $30. (U.S $)

Cool. Did you go thicker or were you able to find it the same thickness.

Great job with the teak, and everything else so far! Can not wait to see how your paintjob turns out! It won't be a bottom feeder one like so many of us around here, so that sure is a change :D.

It's slightly thicker, maybe 1/16" is all. I never worked with teak before, but it cuts nice and the edges came out very smooth after a trip across the rouer table.

Well, fortunately, (or maybe unfortunetly) my job requires a lot of overtime. If I had the time, I would give the paint a try maybe. But the OT gives me the means to have it done. It seems like it's taking forever to get to that point though. I need a 30 hour day....LOL

Not much happening, need to get the deck down and pour the foam in which requires temps above 80 degrees. Seems silly to heat the garage when its in the 60's out, so I may wait till it warms up some more. I started cutting up 1/2" thick sheet foam and fitting it into the bottom of the boat on top of the ribs. I am then going to pour the foam on top of it. Contrary to what others have said, the pour in foam will NOT melt the pink foam board. The pink board has a very thin plastic coating on it which the pour in will NOT melt and actually it won't stick to it either. I also tested a piece of pink after peeling the plastic layer off and then they stick nicely together, so that's what I am going to do (when I get time).

My seats are going to the upholestry lady tomorrow. She could also start on new bow cushions as well.

Be sure to take a bunch of photos of your foam board/pour in combo. It's a unique way of running it and I think it'll be great reference dj.

Cheers!

I'm totallly convinced we have the same hull, but my HIN says the boat is from 1977.

Well work is finally back to normal and I have some time to work on the boat.

Tonight I riveted the first deck section in and did two pours of foam. For those new to my project, I am laying in sheet foam on top of the ribs and then pouring in two part foam with the idea of having a place for moisture to go if it gets down there somewhere.

Getting ready...

Worked a little more on the deck tonight. Nothing picture worthy.

One year ago today I picked my boat up.
