Most will tell you to toss the idle stabilizer.
When you set the timing pointer, you should have set the #1 piston to TDC. Now make sure the dial indicator touches the exhaust deflector on the piston top and zero it. Now back off the flywheel until the dial indicator treads .464 inches. Make sure it is still touching the exhaust deflector on the piston. Now adjust the timing pointer to read .464 inches BTDC on the timing decal.
