Anyone have any information on a 1978 seanymph 17'. It has dual consoles and walk thru. It is a basket case and I am going to restore it. Also any ideas on transom replacement? I am thinking 2pcs. 3/4" marine plywood. how about motor capacity? none on there now.

Post some pictures and I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Is there any hull id tag? As far as transom, lots of help here from people that have used many processes. I went with 2 sheets of exterior grade plywoodd, screwed and glued and then couple of coats of epoxy. Some guys use marine, cost and availability are usually issues. You'll want to seal whatever you use. Spar varnish, epoxy, porch paint or a combo. Check some of the resto threads, if you haven't already, and you'll see different methods and the reasoning behind them. Welcome to iboats. Great bunch of people here with all kinds of help.

This rebuild should give you a really good road map for your resto:

Look around, lots of good info available here in the resto threads as well as the tin rebuilds in the Starcraft forum:
Starcraft Rebuilds and Restorations, they're all here!

Although not a Starcraft, your SN is a tinny, and similar methods can be used to rebuild it.

Which 1978 SeaNymph 17'? The SS170BR? It's listed in the 'other 1978 models' link
Sea Nymph

If it's the BR it's rated for a 100hp OB motor
