Hi,

After sitting unused for a couple of years I started my1978 Glastron with an OMC 800 series 185 (small block chevy motor) and after getting it running and taking it out for a trial run, it will no longer go into nuetral. Forward and reverse are fine. When I try lift the finger release to pull out the throttle/shift control to go into neutral. it stays in gear. If the throttle/shift is in the center position, it starts, but as soon as I try to give it any gas, it engages the gears and stalls, because I can't increase the gas. It seems like the throttle handle isn't disengaging when I pull it out (towards me).

I looked at the throttle position cable position on the rear of the motor, and it is moving fine, and centered on the neutral spot when the throttle is in the center location, and I disconnected the actual throttle cable and it moves smoothly in its housing, although again, only moving with the shift mechanism.

Is the problem something in the throttle/shifter handle?
