I've got a 25 Hp and a 35 HP motor I can throw on it to try. The bow rising thing has made me too nervous to try up to this point.

I am sure you have to much weight in the rear and not enough hp to overcome that weight. Move fuel and battery forward, doesn't need to go all the way forward just get it forward of the stern. My old tinnie had a 6 gallon fuel tank on the starboard side and battery on the port side just in front of the rear bench seat. My chunky butt was off center to the starboard side and it balanced out well. You might need to change your prop pitch to get more usable thrust from that small motor. Put a long straight edge under your hull out back to the motor...then adjust the tilt ( trim) until the cav plate is parallel to the bottom of the hull as a start to the motor adjustment. The cav plate should be about level or slightly below the bottom if the hull. With the tank and battery moved forward, give it a test run and let us know how she does.

Looks like your motor could be tilted out a little more but not bad. From the look of the waterline you have a lot of weight in the stern. Check the pitch on your prop, probably will need to use less pitch to let the engine build up RPM. Anyway to add a portable tach onto your motor ? It needs to run at peak rpm at wot to get the most from your engine.

Yes I can do the portable tach. I've got one somewhere here at the house, and I'll dig it out of a box.

I noticed the waterline being pretty abnormal when I took that Picture too. Strange thing is the only things in the boat are a gas can, battery and the outboard all near the stern. Nothing else is in the boat at all. Boat has set in a pond most of the summer, and not been used much. Its not excessive weight from heavy people driving it.

Gee, a lot of weight in the stern is a relative term. What is the weight of the boat, say 150# or less? The motor is 60-80#, battery is 40# and fuel is 50#. So gas, fuel and motor likely outweigh the boat, hence the stern being a lot lower in the water, while it is moored. Move fuel and battery forward and see how the trim of the moored boat changed.

Boat looks good there, but look at the weight being distributed with all those on board ! Spread out your weight by moving some further forward. Gonna need to experiment where it needs to be. Depending on how many people you have in the boat, you may need to shift weight each time you go out.

Put some dead weight up front if going by yourself. Any wife will do just fine.
