1978 Lund Deep V Hull, bow raising up dangerously high

I have a 1978 Lund V hull that I am really having trouble with. This boat is 15 feet long, and 66" wide at the beam. The bow of the boat really wants to rise out of the water even with a little Johnson 15 HP on it. Like so much that I am nervous about flipping the boat. I'm trying to decide if I can fix this or if its just worth selling.

A little background about the boat. It was a center console before I converted to tiller. I assume this is causing the issue since the boat was designed to have the someone sitting in the in the middle of the boat originally. The boat also had a bunch of nasty water logged foam down below the floors. I removed all the nasty foam but did not replace it. This boat is a mostly used on a small pond or to fish the river. I didn't expect the foam to make that much of a difference to keep the bow down.

My question is does converting center console to tiller shift the balance of the weight of the boat so far off that it cannot be used? I've messed with the tilt of the outboard all the way up all the way back etc. It hasn't made much difference. I think with a bigger motor the boat would literally flip at this point.

You changed the balance and put you and the outboard at the stern. Take someone with you or put some weight over half way to the bow. Move the weight forward each trip until you're satisfied

Trim the motor down as much as you can. That will help it plane faster with less bow rise.

Try to determine if the wind affects the lift of the bow. I had a jon that the wind would lift and carry the bow.

I figured it had more to do with the center console/tiller thing than the nasty foam.

I will see if i can add some weight under the decking to compensate.

How much do you weigh ? A 15 hp on the stern should not cause that big of a difference. Pics ? Something is not right here...need pics of the motor and bottom of hull at the transom.

20" transom ? 200lbs should not be an issue. What about fuel tank, battery etc, where are they sitting? Is your motor a 4 stroke?

Motor is 2 stroke. 1983 Johnson. 20" Transom. Fuel tank and battery are sitting in back near transom right now.

Basically ive got all the weight of the boat in the back.

More info on the boat please.
Model ?
Fiberglass or aluminum?
15" or 20" transom?
Horsepower rating of boat?
How long does the bow stay up in the air?
Does the boat ever get up on plane and the bow lower?

Thinking you have a boat rated for 30-75 hp and you are seriously underpowered, possibly compounded by a long shaft motor on a 15" transom.

I can't find any info on a 15' center console Lund in their catalogs.

Boat is aluminum,
20” transom
Not sure on hp rating no sticker
Bow stays up in air whole time I’ve got it in water if I’m only one in it.
I’ve never been able to get bow to lower even when it is trying to plane unless I’ve got a second person in the front.

I’ll get the model number as soon as I can. Need to run out to my car to check whenever I get a chance.
