1978 Johnson 9.9 carburetor

I have a 1978 Johnson 9.9 model # 10R78M that the mechanic said the carburetor "shaft is loose and is sucking air." He says Johnson no longer makes this carburetor and that a carb kit will not suffice. Does anyone know where I might find a carburetor for this motor, new or used? MTGrampa
