Just picked up my first boat! It needs a transom, floor, and outboard. One spot of the floor is mush and I was wondering if it was ok to cut out the rotted area and patch it or am I better off taking out the whole floor and replacing it all? Is it true these boats don't have stringers in the hull? I've looked at a few people's pics from their restorations but no one mentioned having to repair the floor other than put in new carpet. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to iboats.

I am restoring a Sidewinder 16 Cobra SS and I only have one stringer. My deck was mush, transom shot and a whole bunch of little things. Do you have a motor for it?

No motor. I got the hull and trailer free from a friend. Its my first boat so I wanted something to put some elbow greese into so I could learn about boats. I'm thinking of putting a 90 or 115 on it if I come across a good deal on one when the time is right.

I just saw a 115 for sale in Burlington, VT older one but salvageable with tilt and trim. I was considering offering the guy 250-300 since it needs some work but the parts from that one will not interchange with my current 115. Keep you eye on craigslist in your state and surrounding states ;)
