1978 70 hp dies

my moter will idle fine in netural and in gear but when i hit the throttle it dies. it will restart reasonably well and idles good then ill try and go it dies plugs are good i never had a proublem last summer what is wrong?

Hey, try hitting the choke for a split second as it starts to die out. I did that with my '76 70hp johnson and it seemed to really help. If it's is the same problem I am having it might be starving for fuel as you throttle up so it may be a bad fuel pump or clogged filter.
