I have fuel dripping out into the spill well when I have the outboard tilted up after use. On an older outboard, should this be expected? I happen to think it shouldn't, I think I have too much fuel left in the carbeurator, but I don't know where to start troubleshooting. I have included some pics.

Is there anything that can be done to the carbs to reduce this?

Re: 1978 115 hp Evinrude outboard

As Bob indicated, this is somewhat common on these older crossflows. The factory put an airbox drain on that engine. Be sure the hose is functioning/connected between the bottom of the airbox and the hose barb on the lower front of the powerhead. Also, there should be a cork gasket which seals the two halves of the airbox. 319796. If it's missing, the fuel that collects in the bottom of the airbox will leak into the lower cowling. Any fuel which collects at the bottom of the airbox will get recirulated into the bottom cylinder (through that drain tube) the next time the engine is started. It may smoke a little till that excess fuel gets burned off-10 or 15 seconds.
