[h=2][/h] The leakage happens from the hose connection to cylinder, from both the bigger hose and smaller hose. There is no o-ring in there. The leakage comes from the threading. As I fasten it to far enough, it still leaks.

My question is do I need an oring for this connection? I tried to search for it but nowhere give a description. I also tried different size o-rings, not working. Or do I need a thread sealer for that connection? I used loctite blue but still failed.s-l500.jpgs-l1600.jpg

It a hydraulic flare and cone seal and uses no o-ring or sealer. If leaking the hose flare is damaged or the cone in cylinder it seals to is damaged or its cross threaded and not mating.

Thanks for pointing out the loctie blue, that's why it failed me every time on the wrong purpose.
Can I use some ultra black gasket sealer on the thread to make it work?

Those threads are a weak point on that PTT system. I would inspect the threads and see if they are good enough to use.

If not, you might be able to retap to a larger fitting and use a brass flush bushing to restore the original thread size. I am not sure if there is enough room to do that, however.

The other choice is to replace the cylinder.

No, as faztbullet said it does not use sealer.

Thank you for all the advises.

I did see some thread debuts come out when I unscrew them to check. I doubt it will seal again since the thread is the only sealing way of those fittings, because I have tried many times on that.

I have done before with another cylinder, sealed it with some pipe tape and cracked the thread, and then threw it away. I will try to use some sealing paste on this one, or even jb weld and give it another try. If now working, it's time for a used one now.

BTW, is there any new after market cylinders that I can use on this PTT system?

Just before doing any serious damage to the cylinder, I found a hole above those fitting connectors. That hole belongs to a button insert, which i believe should be glued into it. This is a used one from Ebay, the previous owner glued (yellow) something in it, and it is blew off. It's hard to notice and keep dripping on to the hose fittings.

Now with a screw and jb weld, everything works good.

Thanks guys for the help.

The bleed screw was just above the hose connection, if I remember correctly. it should take a standard ss screw.

Here are the bleed screws and method for bleeding - some units used Allen screws for the bleed screws:

Maybe it's not a bleed hole or I didn't explain it clearly.
Here is the pic for the button, which I refereed to. I use a screw and jb weld to block it.

Checked one of my cylinders and it has a pressed in steel plug in that location ; could be something to do with the die casting process.
