I have a 1977 inline 6 150 hp like all of them it has to be choked to death to get it to start.once started it idles fine and during cooler weather runs great. as the weather warms up it still idles fine but when you throttle up it acts like it is running out of gas, back off the throttle and it idles fine. sometimes i can double pump the throttle and it will take off, other times i put it in nuetral and rev it for a few seconds and it will then take off. I have tried squeezing the bulb when it does this but it makes no difference is it a fuel problem or something else ?

Hmmm....what kind of gas tank do you have? Type of boat? How hot is it when this starts happening?

you know this sounds like a classic dirty high speed jets, or link and sinc. the carbs, out of adjustment with the timing advance. give this a try

OK,I hope I have found something here.I went and got a fuel pump diaphram kit,and when I removed the fuel pump, there was fuel in the pulsation line going between cylinders 5&6.found a small leak in the diaphram.installed kit and replaced all the fuel lines under the cowl.
Also, followed the link &sync procedure and found the carbs only opening abot 3/4 of the way, adjusted until WOT could be obtained, also found full advance at 15btdc.adjusted to 20btdc.to cold to get on the lake so I cant finish procedure for adjusting carbs.but will let you know.
