Ok I am vary Mechanically Inclined I am separating the power head because it threw a rod and destroyed the Cases both of them.

1. I have removed -shifter ,fuel line , ground ,exhaust housing cover ,lower motor cover bolts and the six bolts going up through the exhaust housing into the powerhead. Am I missing something or is there more to remove I am just not seeing. There is two bolts going down into the exhaust housing but they do not look like they are holding me back
.
2. I would like to now if I can put a 1973 Johnson 65hp powerhead in its place with no modifications .
Please any feed back will be grateful.

There is one studded bolt in the rear, tucked in below the cylinder head. A long-ish 1/2-inch open end wrench works well...
