So I recently bought a boat, my first boat and boy does it need work. It is a 1977 Hydroglass trihull bass boat it was made in Livingston Tn. they were only in operation for 9 years so i am assuming there are not very many of them were made if there are i would love to see them!!!! But any ways i started by removing the carpet and the seats and some other junk.

This is where is started from originally.

It looked ok the way it was but structurally it was horrible. So i decided next was the deck it wasnt even the original and who ever did it did aweful

Next was the middle part of the deck it was in three sections so i started with the middle just to see what i was getting into rotten wood wise!

As u can see the foam is soaked and also the stringers arent even glassed in they look like they have been replaced but not very well.

Next is to remove motor and wires and hardware and then remove the cap to start disassembling the hull. Let me know what you guys think of the progress so far or have any tips for me.

If u take a close look you can see that the stringers arent even the right material they were made out of 2x4's yea who ever delt with this didnt know what they were doing and there are metal pieces on the transom, and thats tellin me that there has been a problem with it for some time and it was a temp fix. Ugh this is going to be a long project.

Make sure and take plenty of measurements. They will be invaluable when you start back in several months. The first link in my signature has some drawings and info that will be beneficial as well. Make sure and wear the PPE and stay safe. I assume the Motor runs well??? Some of these old tri-hull bass boats had balsa core Hulls. Hopefully yours will not be that type cuz they are NOT fun to restore.
