Hey fellas so I’ve got a question I haven’t seen in the forums anywhere so my throttle is maxing out and not letting the timing plate fully advance to the stop screw any ideas would be helpful I’m at a loss. Thanks.

do you have a problem (RPM wise) or is the stop screw not adjusted properly

when and how did this come up ?

So I never noticed it because I’ve never ran the throttle in gear never ran it on the water and no the screw is in the ball park of where it should be. And currently the fly wheel is off because I did crank seals. Last time I ran it it would idle and rev. When is the cam supposed to lift of the timing plate cause if I set the arm at full throttle when the plate actually touches the stop it works. Thank you for the reply.

I'm not sure of some of your terms...."cam" are you talking about the roller on the carb linkage? Like Racer says, in neutral it won't allow it.

Whenever you mess with it you have to do a link and sync and there is lots of info online on how to do that.

Yeah the roller that sits on the marks on the timing plate and yes it is in gear. I’ve done what I thought to be a correct link and sync but when I do it that way where the throttle cracks open in the middle of the two marks then it doesn’t reach full spark advance and is getting limited out by the throttle rod that runs all the way to the throttle upright arm.

Hard to follow... but if the area your talking about is where I think it is, it seems one of two things. 1st guess, your not completing the last step of the L&S or your timer plate under the flywheel is all gooped up or has blockage.

Is it any of those?
