Decided to take a short break from the power boat. Fishing the drifter this week. I will get the parts next week and find out! Thanks again guys. It helps to have this board for ideas

Well after the rains stopped I needed the power boat again. So back to work.
To answer my first question of "can have spark during a spark test and no spark while the engine is running". The answer is yes. If the the coil is marginal. I guess the coil had enough to make the spark plug fire when it was laying on the head, but not enough to make it fire under compression or when fuel was present.

Long story short, use a factory spark tester to test spark on high out put systems! Two new coils and she runs like new!
