im finishing up on getting this all put together...my steering arm came in today...it looks like i will have to now remove the motor to thread the new steering arm on? Dealer didnt tell me this little tidbit of info. has been a bad deal thru this guy and would love NOT to ever have to deal with again.....is there another way around removing motor to install new arm?

Are you talking about the steering cable that comes from the helm ?? If you are you'll have to remove the mtr.

I have the same motor...and replaced my steering. I had to unbolt the motor and swivel it to get the steering ram thru the transom tube.

If you have a garage...just back the boat in and use a rope and pulley, or a 'come along' to lift the motor a few inches so you can swivel it and get the steering ram into the tube. It's easy if you have a friend to help out.

Turn the mtr to one side all the way and you should be able to do it with the proper tools. Done it before with out pulling the mtr.

If it's just the link arm...then there's no reason to have to remove the motor. I thought the OP was trying to get the steering ram thru the transom tube.
