Engine starts & runs fine for about 3/4 of an hour. When the throttle is pulled back to slow forward and then pushed forward to resume normal power the engine tends to fade and stop. It will keep running at very reduced power if throttle is retarded again.
Power pack has been changed, new coils just installed, plugs checked & regaped. Problem appears to be heat related. Any ideas?

Your theory of being a heat-related problem is very possable. Some engines (not sure of yours) have a rev limitter hooked to the temp sender. When the engine overheats, it cuts 1 leg of the switchbox,to drop a cylinder or two,so the engine idles. Smetimes they are designed to completely kill the ignition, sometimes they cut the fuel supply.
But if you think it is overheating, correct that problem first, and see if the performance problem doesn't correct itself.
