1977 55 Evinrude shift linkage

Hello All,
I am replacing the impeller on my 55 evinrude and cant seem to find where to disconnect the shift linkage in order to drop the lower unit. From my little bit of research, I think its underneath the carbs in the front. Does anyone know where I can find a diagram, picture, etc to find this. Also can anyone tell me where I can find a manual on this year of motor?

Go to the banner on the top of the page and click on the evinrude manual, go down and select the Ken Cook icon, order you manual by using the model number of your engine to get the correct manual.
