Greetings:
I just got back from vacation and figuerd it time to work on the boat i purchased three weeks ago, before i left i replaced the impellor and gaskets and gear oil,the day i got back from vacation i tried to put the bottom end (lower unit)back on the motor.after making sure i had every thing lined up (as best as i could tell)when i try to slide it up into place,i can only get so far, about a half an inch of space between the motor and lower unit,i tried and tried to get it to go all the way but it just won,t go,am i missing somthing?
Next question:
the reverse cam,(if thats what it,s called?)does the slopped part of the cam face the prop?Should the boat and motor be in neutral when doing this type of work?
thanks for your help,
