Recently got a 1976 Mercury 110 (9.9hp). Working on trying to get it started but having troubles. Motor will start after a couple pulls, however will not stay running or idle. When it does start, it runs at very high RPM for a few seconds, then dies. It will start with no choke, but immediately go to high rev. I have checked plugs, cleaned carb, new gas and checked fuel pump, (primer bulb stays hard, and can hear fuel moving to carb). All look good, and for its age, the motor looks clean, (no gunk in carb) etc. I was told to look at "low speed idle adjustment" but wanted to throw this question out and see if anyone has any advice. I plan on looking at carb again tonight or tomorrow, and try a good cleaning again. If anyone has any advice, seen this before, or can help in any way, would be much appreciated.
