So to follow up with everyone, and thanks to gcboat, great start.

Taking gcboat's advice I found a guy about 45 minutes away that would look at the motor and make sure it would even start. With just a little work he proved that the 65hp motor would start and seem to run pretty good for a motor that hasn't been ran for a decade. And his advice was about the same as gcboat, replace the plugs, gas line, rebuild the carbs, and replace the water pump. So with the motor progress on lock down and under control, it's time to move on to the boat.

Floor was completely shot, so I started to remove it, and found foam to be 100% waterlogged and filled with gasoline that was leaking out of the rotten tank. I looked at a lot of threads and realized that it was a pretty big, undecided topic. Foam? What is it and why is it there? To float? I could see that but it's only on the right half of the boat, why? Should I look to put foam back after I ensure the hull will not leak and if so do I fill the whole hull with it or just half?

When removing the floor there is glass that is still strongly attached to the side of the hull, do I grind it down flush, or leave a lip to place the new floor on?

Last question from the rookie, which yes, is full of questions. The ol wise man that look at the boat said that the control box was trash, what is the best way to find a new one? Are there after market ones?
