This motor just does not seem to run right.. I had a bunch of problems with it last year after I bought it..; Had the carb rebuilt, throttle adjusted and was running pretty good. Then the trouble started... Found a coil went bad.Only firing on one cylinder. HOWEVER it had two automotive coils on it..
So after much research I found the right coils and got them on with the correct spark plug wires.. After that the motor was running good...Got it doing approx. 25 mph on the water.. Its on a 17.5 Alum Sea Nymph.. Then we put it away for the winter.. We then changed the impeller out this spring took it out and after playing aound with the shift coupler got it going in forward and reverse... Back in Business and fishing the spring walleye run in the detrorit river.. Awesome...
Then no power again.. Just like a coil that went bad.. Took a meter to both colis and they Ohm out correclty.. spark plug wires seemed to be intermittnet so I replaced them with new ones.. Did a compression test and both cylinders test out to 150 lbs of pressure..Also Removed and replaced the Puddle Drain Screens.. Cleaned the plugs and back out for a test... Started up good. Seemed to be running pretty good up to around 23 mph... seemed to start missing a little... Ran for about ten minutes,, slowed down to idle and was running OK a little rough. Went to go to full throttle and now can only get approx 6 mph.. Seems to be only running on one cylinder again.. Got back to the dock on the trusty trolling motor and took the plugs out.. Top plug is all oily and wet...
It seems that when i get this runnnig right it starts acting up and I am back at square one..
So frustrated...
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do..
