ive got a question.. ive got a 1976 merc. 9.8 hp ive rebuilt the carb several times and also the fuel pump. it seems to run great in a barrel of water before I take it to the lake . it runs great at low idle and even half throttle. when I run it at full throttle it goes about fifty yards then just shuts off. I have to pump the primer ball and it starts right back up. was wondering if the float is out of adj and if it is what should be the correct way to adj it? or do I have another problem. ive been thrue the carb several times and its getting old rebuilding the thing over and over.. I know im missing something and an help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hello Jeff and :welcome: to iBoats...

Sound a lot like it might have an air leak in the fuel system somewhere. Check all the tank and engine fittings, the fuel lines and the primer...
