1976 35HP Johnson water problem

I know s this sounds stupid but I just gotta know.<br /><br />Just inherited a 1976 35 HP Johnson and am finding out that it's much different than my 140hp Evinrude. Was told the water pump didn't work on the 35hp so I just put a new impeller in. Everything seated well when I put her back together but when I put it in the water barrel I got water out of the two holes on the front of the housing (just above the lower unit) and exhaust out of the two small holes on the back/top of the housing. Is this right?<br /><br />On my 140 the water streams out of the two back holes. Am I just confused or is something wrong with the 35hp?<br /><br />John

Everything is fine with the 35. They just<br />"squirt" that way to let you know all is fine (out of the two exaust holes). And I'm pretty sure it's also normal from those other two,but can't remember what they are for.<br /><br /><br /><br />------------------<br />Time to change my tagline
