Was wondering what substitute for ?Lubriplate 777? to use for the electric starter pinion shaft on a 1975 Rude 9.9? Hate to buy a can of this stuff as the quantity in the can is too much for my needs. Also the motor has a grease fitting to pump some grease into the bracket where the motor swivels from side to side on the bottom, but I was wondering how to get some grease into the top as I see no fitting there?

OMC used to use the 777 but now they recommend Versi-Lube. It's expensive so you may want to stop by a local dlr and buy a small amount of it for your mtr. The swivel bracket on your mtr only has one fitting to lube it.
