hello all

i need some advice on where to connect the main power and earth to my johnson 50, i purchased my boat as an unfinished project and it has everything unpluged and or removed, the red socket for the control box is a no brainer just dont want to mess anything up & need to know if it still runs, i do know the history of the boat thankfully the old 50 had about 700 aud spent on the eletrics 6 months ago to make it run rite

Re: 1975 johnson help

The positive cable goes to the starter solenoid, opposite the cable that goes to the starter. The ground should go to a stud on the exhaust cover, if no stud remove one of the exhaust cover bolts and attach ground cable there.

Note: you want to make sure the ground connection is clean, no paint between cable and exhaust cover. Maybe use a star washer for good contact.
