I am getting conflicting information regarding what type of lower unit oil to use in 1975 50 HP Johnson. The OMC manual for this model states using OMC Sea- Lube Premium Blend Gearcase Lube (or Dextron if other is not available). - which I am told is the same as "Type C gear lube"- which states on the container for electric shifts.
As I understand it, this motor is not electric shift.
Reading various post, someone referenced that there was a OMC update out on this.. but I could not find it.
