1975 Johnson 40hp engine

I have a 40hp Johnson Engine 1975 need wiring help from the plug to the ignition The wire from the engine are red-purple white blue-white blue purple-white the ingnition has 6 post a;m;b;raised m;s;ci would like to find out what go where on the ignition

Your method of color listing is somewhat confusing. I believe you're saying that you have:

a RED wire with a PURPLE stripe..... 12v power connects to the "B" terminal

a plain WHITE wire..... Starter solenoid connects to the "S" terminal

a BLUE wire with a WHITE stripe..... Magneto connects to the raised "M" terminal

a plain BLUE wire..... Magneto connects to the regular "M" terminal

a PURPLE wire with a WHITE stripe..... Choke solenoid connects to the "C" terminal

The "A" terminal is hot (12v) when the key is in the ON or START position. Anything hooks up here that you want 12v applied to when the key is on.
