I am hoping someone out here has this exact same boat and can help me. My great grandfather gave me this boat a few years before he passed away. This boat has a lot of sentimental value to me and my family. I am in the process of having the boat redone to include the floor, various holes, transom, keel, etc. The USCG maximum hp and weight capacity plate is not on the boat. I am hoping someone out here has the same boat and can post a picture of theirs so I can have a new one made that is accurate. Thanks in advance

If you look on the Fiberglassics website you might find what you are looking for. I found some great pics and the same info you are looking for, most of the info has been downloaded by individuals, not a industry run website so some info is vague but I found info for my obscure '65 runabout. Good luck!

Seems to be a dead end there. Tried searching "Dixie Malibu", Dixie and Malibu, Dixie or Malibu, "Malibu". Everything returns no results. Thanks for the reply though. The hunt continues

If the boat is a 1975 model, it should have the Hull ID Number (aka HIN) molded into the fiberglass somewhere on the transom, usually the starboard side near the rubrail.

Knowing the first few digits (letters) will help identify the manufacturer . Would you be able to post the HIN?

Found a picture of a plate on some random forum that I think matches what I used to have on this boat. Went ahead and ordered a replacement one. Thanks to those who replied and tried helping me out. I surely appreciate it. Will try and remember to post some pictures of the boat once it is finished. Should be looking good. Hoping to have it completed within the next 2 months or so.

Please post some pictures of the progress. That really helps others, I don't know what I would have done without this great source of knowledge and help to get me through it, still not done yet but getting there. If all the people who have given me advice could now just show up to my door and finish it that would be great...

I am having someone who does fiberglass work for a living help me (more like I will be helping him) do the transom. He is also gonna help me redo/restrengthen the keel and reglass that floor. Trying to make sure it's getting fixed right and hopefully last a couple more generations. Actually picked up a really nice motor this afternoon from a guy I know. It's a 2015 that he bought new in 2016. Barely been used. Maybe 20 hours on it if that. It's a 15 H.P. Mercury. Used someone's old Johnson 15hp on this boat maybe 10-12 years ago and it moved this boat at a decent speed. Looking forward to getting it on the water and testing it out.

Thinking of adding a small Bimini top to this boat for some much needed shade on these hot summer days. Anyone have any recommendations from places they have used in the past?

Boat is showing more progress. Got the transom removed last week. And the floor bedded down. Fiberglass guy (the artist as I call him) put the floor in. I just cut and beveled the plywood to fit. Still got to lay down fiberglass over it. Also got the bench seat leveled as it had about a 1/2 sag in the middle of it which was making it look a bit tired. Can't wait to see this thing completed.

I still have a Dixie Fiberglass Products 14' Malibu center console from 1978. Currently on my 3rd restoration. The original boat was very poorly made but loved the design. Unfortunately it's not your boat so I'm just relaying info on the DXP boats. Good luck.

The one I have seems to have been made very well. It's a very simple boat but has held up for nearly 50 years. Ready to have this completed and fixed right so it will be good for hopefully another 50.

I did order a 5.5ft Bimini top to have installed on the boat for some much needed shade in the summer. Also ordered a new USCG Plate and I am having sex new Malibu stickers made as the old ones were falling apart. Couldn't find anyone to remake the originals so a nice new sticker will have to do.

Flash forward to 2024. Happy New Year! This project is finally drawing to an end. Figured I would show y'all some updated photos. Interior of the boat was done using an epoxy based paint. And the outside was sanded and then painted using a mothane catalyst/catalyzed paint. Here are some before and after pics of each.1000001203.jpg1000001201.jpg1000001202.jpg1000001205.jpg1000001206.jpg1000001178.jpg1000001177.jpg1000001197.jpg1000001198.jpg1000001204.jpg

Got the boat back on the trailer. Replaced the bunks, carpet, lights, winch, and bunk brackets on the trailer while I had it off it. Picked me up a bow mount 45lb thrust tiller steer trolling motor for the boat which I got installed yesterday. And I got the 15 HP Mercury on the back of it. I did go ahead and run 2 bolts through the transom to make sure that motor is not going anywhere. Siliconed the heck out of the holes I drilled so they should be water tight for years to come. Will post some more pics of it in the water and some once I finally get around to installing the Bimini top I bought a year ago for it.
