1975 -- 85 hp Johnson

Put 12 volts directly to starter motor while it was mounted on motor. No response. Can I safely assume the motor is no good. Thanks

Hi Bentel<br />You could assume your starter motor is no good. Or you could find out whats the matter with it. You may be able to over haul it.
