1975 70hp johnson

changed the coils on my engine now when i go to hook up the battery its arcing like i have a wire crossed i have checked all wires put each coil back in its original spot so why is it arcing? please help

Do you have the key in the on position ?

What is arcing? The battery?

Trace out the battery wires and make sure you don't have a broken wire grounding out to the motor etc.
