tmorriss, I would think the same thing, but he showed me the inside of the cylinders. #1 Cylinder is clean as if it were brand new, and the other two look like what you would expect after being run. He said it's because it is sucking water in from the coolant jacket. It makes it like a washing machine inside the cylinder, and I'm lucky that it didn't score the cylinder wall. He said that is why I also had gray sludge coming out of the exhaust. He said it was unburned oil and fuel mixng with the lake water, and it was caused by the #1 cylinder not burning due to water getting into it. On a good note I found a '77 today for $300, and it doesn't have any of the salt water exposure problems that were on the '75.

Slapped it on today, and can use the '75 as a parts motor. Watch out fish here I come.
