1975 50hp Johnson wont run

I have a 1975 50hp Johnson that was running fine when parked last fall. Now there is no spark, any ideas on what to start with? I put a spark tester on the plug wires and there is no spark. Any idea on where to go next? Thank you.

Go to CDI's website and look up your engine and use their troubleshooting guide to check out your system.

You may be able to help me, is there any chance you could put a couple of pics of your engine on the thread, as I have a Johnson which I believe to be a "1975 50hp Johnson".
It has a transom bracket off a 79 55hp Evinrude so I really do not know the exact Johnson year or hp.

It looks the same as mine, the only difference is mine is white.

I did a few things off the link that one of the previous posters posted. Nothing seemed to be working, one night after work I went and turned the key and it started right away and has been working great since!

if you have no spark at all, im going to guess that your trigger is bad. I would use the CDI site and check that trigger really good.

If it was running fine last year....make sure to clean up all connections to make sure that it isn't something as simple as corroded terminals.
