Well, I guess Photobucket does not let us use our photos on 3rd party sites anymore...Any suggestions?

I am about to take her back up to Houghton Lake for the second time. If you remember a few pages back, our last trip was unsuccessful as the motor would not perform while under load. I am crossing my fingers nothing happens this trip with the new motor! So far she runs like a top. I do not get a lot of time stretching her legs because of the size of our lake. Mostly river cruises so this will be a great trip. I will post pics throughout next week.

I now have the tach hooked up and I hit the rev limit of 5500 rpm. I could not get her past 29 mph but I was using a phone app and not my chart plotter as it was not working. I placed a topic on the prop page but if anyone has had any experience with this setup, your input would be appreciated Here is the data:

16SS
2003 Yamaha F50
12 pitch prop...I think... it has a few different stamps on the hub area: G, 12 and 3. I assume the 12 is the pitch, the 3 is the number of blades, not sure what the G is
RPM governed at 5500
speed 29 mph
Only myself on board (220 lbs)
one battery
3 gallon gas tank (full)

I've been using MS Onedrive to post pics and had to restore all my thread pics over a weeks time but I got it done. So on your motor/prop/speed issue, I would have to say that speed is about right as a 50 HP motor is the bare minimum for a 16' SS. A 70 is perfect and will get you to around 35 MPH with a normal load. These boats require power, for example my 18' V5 SS has almost triple your HP with a 140 HP motor and with a normal load it hits 45 MPH with a 19p prop.

Thanks waterman! I'll look into the ne photo app. I have a couple from today but no way to load so looks like I'll be figuring it out sooner rather than later.

I gave her an oil change and swapped out the sparks. With two adults and two children, glass for water, we were hitting 30mph and tach showed 5600. I'm 100% ok with those numbers. We will really test her tomorrow with a couple adults and a tube off the back!

well, all I have to say is Shark Hyde is great! This is the 4th season out in the elements 24/7 and the 5th or 6th year of it protecting that hard work I did. I will say I do want to get another polish in over the winter.

I'd say shark hide lasts very well and yeah that is some tough work polishing, kinda like sanding which I hate BTW :lol:
