I got a 1974 starcraft a couple months ago and have been working on interior and everything else. But it has been sitting for about 14-15 years in a barn so I did get it running couple weeks ago and no that all fuel lines and tank have been cleaned out and everything else is done I installed new impeller and lower gear oil yesterday. I pulled back out of garage and started it today and seems ti run great sat and idled no problems just seems like I dont have allot of water coming out of the weep hole on the motor it is coming out just no allot of pressure. I am new to outboards I always have had I/O so maybe it is normal. I have plenty of water coming out of prop but looking for some of you guys that have more outboard experience to look and see what you guys think. Okay having problems posting video from photobucket need a little help on posting it.

The weep hole is pretty much there to let you know that the impeller is working, especially while under way .If you fun over a weed bed or something like that you simply turn around and make sure you have water coming out the weep hole as the pick up may be choked with weeds Most of the water does exit through the prop and act as a noise baffle while doing that. If you speed up the engine while on the hose the pressure will increase and the stream will show that and vise versa, dont rev it too high while in neutral, the Towers do not like that, they do like it while in gear and on the water

Well that makes me feel good I kind of wondered if that was just kind of a reference point. So I think I am good to go and ready to try the boat once the weather breaks and I get the boat registration all worked out. I do have two more questions
1. What is max rpm for the motor?
2. I have no idea how to check tilt trim fluid. I have two trim cylinders on the back not a single one like some I have seen. I also have the tilt trim motor and it is mounted on the back of the transom and pretty hard to get to.

See NOTE below:

I use a LU gearcase fluid pump to fill pump because the fitting screws into the FILL hole.
