1974 25 Johnson

Is this model supposed to have a shallow drive and/or full tilt lock?

I would love to have the ability to run this motor in shallow water, but more importantly if it won't run in shallow water i need to pull the motor out of the water so it doesn't drag. Right now I am just putting a duck decoy in between the motor and the boat to hold it up but would love to have some sort of working system in place. Any ideas?

it should have a full tilt lock. but low water no.

Hate to disagree Tash, but I believe there is a friction adjustment only , and no full tilt lock. Rick

Yep, tighten up on the tilt bolt nut till it stays where you put it. It has tapered spacers in there for friction.

I had to pull mine up manually and hold it until I ran out of shallow water. It was much easier to do it on the 6 than the 25!
